We’re planning to elope to Palermo in September 2026 for a small, intimate wedding.
We’re also planning a separate celebration in our home town, Leith, in November 2026.
Want to know more? Read on and find out what we have planned.
We've never been that big on weddings (unless we've been to yours, in which case, we loved it!). They're just not for us, so whilst we want the fun contract bit, we're skipping (some) of the usual pomp and ceremony.
We’re not planning on inviting anyone to our elopement. It’s in another country, it’ll be expensive to attend, and you won’t actually be able to see us get married.
We will be inviting people to a party to celebrate our elopement in Leith in November 2026
Ask Barbara, she's in charge. After the legal bit, we're going to take a few days travelling Italy by train, because Greg has never actually been to Italy and Eilidh loves pasta.
We’re not doing a wedding, so we're not doing a registry.
We’ll have been together for 14 years by the time we get married. We don’t need more stuff (we really don’t need more stuff).
If you do want to give a gift, you’re welcome to contribute to our mini-moon in Italy or make a donation to Cats Protection.
It'll be fun, there will be dancing, there'll be food (but we won't be doing a sit-down meal).
We'll be sending out invites (by email) to the party in Leith in spring 2026. We've booked Leith Arches as the venue.
Greg says no. Eilidh says mob wives.
The party is not planned to be particularly child-friendly. Our children won't be in attendance. If you need to bring yours, get us drunk and we can discuss it.
